Spiced Oat Biscuits Recipes

Ingredients :                                                              

225 g light soft brown sugar

150 g butter or margarine

1 egg

2 tbsp golden syrup

1 tbsp water

1.2 tsp vanilla essence

100 g plain flour

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda

225 g rolled oats

150 g seedless raisins

Method :
  1. Preheat oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4.
  2. Grease two baking sheets.
  3. Beat together the sugar and fat until soft and light.
  4. Beat in the egg, syrup, water and vanilla essence.
  5. Sieve together the flour, cinnamon, salt and soda.
  6. Fold into the creamed mixture.
  7. Mix in the oats and raisins.
  8. Put tablespoonfuls of the mixture well apart on the baking sheets.
  9. Bake for 15 minutes.
  10. Lift carefully on to a wire rack to cool.

These are large crisp cookies which are easily made. They are good in a lunchbox, and delicious with tea or coffee.
