Method :
- Preheat oven to 150C/300F/Gas 2.
- Lightly grease two 7" sandwich
tins.
- Put flour and spice into a bowl
and rub in the butter until the mixture is like fine breadcrumbs.
- Stir in sugar, nuts and lemon
rind.
- Press mixture into the prepared
tins.
- Bake for 45 minutes.
- Using a sharp knife, mark the
shortbreads into 8 segments.
- Cool in tins for 10 minutes.
- Turn on to a wire rack to cool.
- When cold, break into pieces.
