Sift together flour, baking powder and
mixed spice into a large bowl.
Stir in sugar and sultanas, then make
a well in the center of mixture.
Place egg, milk and cream in a small
bowl and whisk to combine.
Gradually stir egg mixture into dry
ingredients and mix until batter is smooth.
Cook dessertspoonfuls of mixture in a
heated, greased, heavy based frying pan until bubbles appear on the
surface, then turn and cook until golden brown.
