Steak With Mustard Sauce Recipes

Ingredients :

30 g butter

4 lean rib eye or fillet steaks

French Mustard Sauce :

2 spring onions, chopped

1 tbsp wholegrain mustard

2 tsp Dijon mustard

125 ml dry white wine

3 tbsp water

1 tsp honey

1/4 tsp dried thyme

2 tbsp cream (double)

2 tbsp grated tasty cheese (mature Cheddar)

Method :
  1. Melt butter in a large frying pan, add steaks and cook for 4-5 minutes each side or until cooked to your liking.
  2. Remove steaks from pan, set aside and keep warm.
  3. To make sauce, add spring onions to pan and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Stir in wholegrain mustard, Dijon mustard, wine, water, honey and thyme and cook over a medium heat, stirring for 3-4 minutes or until sauce reduces slightly.
  5. Remove pan from heat and stir in cream and cheese.
  6. To serve, spoon sauce over steaks.

Serves 4 - 6
