Spiced Meatballs Recipes

Ingredients :

Meatballs

3 cups minced cooked meat

1 small minced onion

1 tbsp Lea & Perrins sauce

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 cup cooked rice

1/2 cup bran

1 egg

Wholemeal crumbs

Spaghetti

375g wheat meal spaghetti

1/2 tsp salt

1 cup cooking oil

Sauce

0.5 liter water

2 tbsp tomato purée

1 onion

2 tomatoes

1 tbsp soy sauce

Method :
  1. This is a three pot dinner which with organization can be prepared way ahead of mealtime.
  2. Mix the meatballs by combining the first seven ingredients and forming into balls.
  3. Roll in crumbs and set aside.
  4. Boil the spaghetti until just tender, then toss in the oil until it glistens.
  5. Combine the sauce ingredients and cook on low heat until tomatoes and onion are absorbed.
  6. Using 1 tbsp oil fry the meatballs, 3 minutes per side, and serve on top of a bed of spaghetti.
  7. Pour the sauce over or serve in a jug.

Serves 4 - 6
