Steamed Glutinous Rice with Crabs and Herbs Recipes

Ingredients :

2 mud crabs

300g glutinous rice

3 dried black mushrooms

38g dried shrimps

1 shallot, sliced

2 stalks Chinese parsley

Seasoning

1 tsp light soy sauce

2 tsp dark soy sauce

1/2 tsp sugar

3 tbsp water

Dipping Sauce, mixed well

ginger shreds

1 small dish Zhejiang vinegar

Method :
  1. Wash glutinous rice.
  2. Soak in water overnight.
  3. Drain and put it into stainless steel steaming tray.
  4. Steam for 1/2 hour over high heat.
  5. Keep warm.
  6. Soak black mushrooms until soft.
  7. Remove the stems.
  8. Dice.
  9. Wash and dice dried shrimps.
  10. Gut the crabs.
  11. Wash and cut into a large pieces.
  12. Set aside.
  13. Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a wok.
  14. Stir fry shallot until fragrant.
  15. Add mushrooms and dried shrimps and stir fry well.
  16. Pour in seasoning.
  17. Bring to the boil.
  18. Pour the seasoning onto the glutinous rice and stir well.
  19. Then, put it into a bamboo steamer.
  20. Arrange the crab over it and steam over high heat for 10 minutes.
  21. Serve with dipping sauce.

You may cook the glutinous rice one day before and refrigerate it. Simply take it out and steam with the crab for a while the next day before serving.
