Mango and Date Chutney Recipes

Ingredients :

mango, chopped

dates, pitted and chopped

chopped ginger

ground ginger

sultanas

ground allspice

chilies, chopped

vinegar

granulates sugar

Method :
  1. Put the mango, dates, ginger, sultanas, allspice, chilies and vinegar into a saucepan and bring to the boil.
  2. Add the sugar and stir until it has dissolved.
  3. Simmer for about 30 minutes or until the chutney is not liquid any more, but a thick consistency.
  4. You should be able to draw a wooden spoon along the bottom of the saucepan without seeing free liquid.
  5. Spoon into warm sterilized jars, seal and store in a cool, dark place for a month before opening.
