Mincemeat Recipes

Ingredients : |
250 g raisins
250 g currants
125 g mixed peel
2 cooking apples, cored, peeled and
chopped
1 tsp finely grated lemon rind
1 tsp finely grated orange rind
125 g brown sugar
125 g
butter, melted
1/2 tsp
ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp
ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp
ground cloves
170 ml
brandy |
Method :
- Finely chop raisins, currants and
mixed peel and place in a large bowl.
- Add apples, lemon rind, orange
rind, sugar, butter, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves and brandy to bowl and
mix well to combine.
- Cover with plastic food wrap and
set aside in a cool place to mature for 3 days.
- Stir twice a day.
- Spoon fruit mixture into
sterilized jars and cover.
- Store in the refrigerator for 2
weeks before using.
